At the young age of 19, one of the discs in my lower back disintegrated and I had to undergo major back surgery and learn to walk again. During this time I tried many treatments such as osteopathy, physiotherapy and chiropractic and the one that resonated most with me was McTimoney Chiropractic. I found it to be gentle and very effective with my own injuries. My initial career was in clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry which I joined with a degree in human biology. I had been so impressed with McTimoney that I studied part time whilst working and qualified as a McTimoney Chiropractor in 1998. During the many treatments I gave, I started to feel rhythms under the skeletal structure, which sparked my curiosity and I started researching other disciplines. This led to me train as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and I qualified in this additional discipline in 2011. I love the way that craniosacral therapy allows the body to restore itself to its optimum health and vitality. The balance between craniosacral therapy and McTimoney chiropractic allows me to work with the emotional, energetic and physical structures of the body, which I feel is a profound mix. I practice from a clinic at home near Malmesbury which enables me to balance my healing work and looking after my two children, dog, cat and three ducks! |
'I went to Jules following a car prang, suffering from whiplash. I hadn't been feeling at all myself and was getting headaches and generally feeling lethargic, weary, and fuzzy headed. Jules took a thorough 'history' before very gently treating me. She calmly and clearly talked me through everything she was doing throughout the treatment. I was amazed at how, by the end of it, I felt like my true self again; the fuzziness in my head having cleared, and the stiffness in my neck loosened. I don't pretend to understand exactly how her gentle touches can have such a marked healing effect. I can only speak of my own experience, and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Jules.' - N Pugh |
